If your vessel is documented with the US Coast Guard, be aware of a scam that is being snail mailed to owners. (Some folks have reported the same scam via email). On fake USCG letterhead, with a fake USCG web site and email address, they offer online renewal of your Documentation.
Visiting their web site, you're invited to complete their documentation renewal form and pay $75 for a one year renewal. Alarm bells go up for those of us who used to pay $5 annually, then $0 and. more recently, USCG initiated a $26 annual renewal fee. But, the $75 fee is a scam. Do not respond, either online or otherwise!
