I am replacing my old suburban water heater (pilot ignition) with a sw6de (electric ignition).  I am confused about where to tie the ignition wires into the existing 12 volt wires.  Can anyone help with an explanation or a written source for information?  I can find no written information on this issue.  Thanks!

The control board on the new unit will have a place to feed 12V. You can either: run a wire from an unused fuse space in the distribution center already in the RV, or run a new wire from the batteries with a fuse holder inline (preferably close to the battery end).

The distribution center with the 12V fuses should be near the converter.

While you can tap into an existing 12V wire feeding lights, the fuse on that wire might not handle the ignition and control board load in addition to the lights.
