I am trying to find the location of the battery on a 1996 Chevy P32. I can see the positive & negative cables that are mounted to the chassis and also to an inverter in the cab, but I cannot see the battery.  Can someone please help me out?? Aloha

You should have at least two batteries, one for starting the engine and another for the house part, lighting and such. They are isolated from each other electrically, but usually mounted close. Typically in that vintage of motorhome, both will be mounted up front with the engine, perhaps behind the grill or on the fire wall. Exactly where depends on the RV builder, i.e. the make & model of RV.

Different coach builders placed them in different places.  On my 2002 P32 Safari Trek the engine starting battery is aft of the drivers side front tire, and the 2 deep cycle house batteries are under the entry step.
