We spent Thanksgiving camped right on the beach at Lake Powell, and it's resulted in my personal favorite video TR thus far.

We camped at Lone Rock Beach, a dispersed camping area maintained by the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It was busy for the holiday weekend, but not overly so. For those who may consider it, it's $14/night with rock solid cell service, at least it was for me on Verizon. Lone Rock Beach is pictured in attachments 1-3, below.

There's a dump station and water fill on site, although they had the water turned off for the winter. Instead I was able to fill up for free just down the road at the Wahweap Marina & RV Campground.

While in the area, we entered the lottery to hike The Wave, visited a ghost town in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and toured Antelope Canyon (attachment #4 below). We also visited Glen Canyon Dam, and went 4x4 for the most amazing views of Lake Powell from Alstrom Point...with unexpected complications (attachment 5 below).

Here's the video:

It was a wonderful way to spend the Thanksgiving holiday.

I have been a subscriber for some time. Watched the video. Thumbs up. Lake is pretty low now. Great dog too. Good table manners.

I enjoyed your video.  We were just out that way over teh summer. stayed a couple nights at wahweep...although I like the looks of that dispersed beach camping!
Beautiful area for sure.  DW really wants to go back some day

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Don't know if it's still in operation, but there was a river raft trip we took from the bottom of the dam downstream to the old ferry crossing (bus ride back). The ride down thru the construction tunnel to get to the raft was cool. If you think the dam looks awesome from the top, the view at the bottom is spectacular.
