Cold Weather Packages on National Tropicals/Monaco Caymans 2003 - 2008

Hello! Curious about cold weather packages, if there's any owners of National Tropicals or Monaco Caymans (or Fleetwood Expeditions) 2003 - 2008, who can help me understand what they consist of? Any information about what is standard, what is optional - if tank compartments are heated with a duct from the furnace, or tanks themselves are heated, etc... Any info appreciated! New to forums but not sure how to operate in the forum yet...

Also wondering if anyone has cut hols between storage compartments to create larger storage? How that went?

Also wondering if there were any changes made to the freightliner chassis, between 2003 and 2008, that might influence what year to buy? Especially brakes and shocks?

I don't believe there is any "cold weather package" for the Cayman, or rather, the cold weather gear is standard. As far as I know, All Caymans in those years had a 12v heater in the water bay and decent insulation in the walls and such.  Earlier years had dual pane window glass as an option, but those became standard somewhere in that time frame.  You can review Cayman brochures for each year to see how they were equipped, base vs options. Google 'Monaco Cayman brochure', or go the Monaco website at https://www.monacocoach.com/luxury-rv-brochures    The Cayman was built on a Roadmaster chassis and the chassis features are covered in the brochure for each year.

The Tropical rides on a Freightliner chassis, either straight rail or raised rail, depending on model or year.  Freightliner equips the chassis per the RV makers specs. Generally, though, the later years were enhanced as the RV market boomed, up to and including year 2008. I think in all years the Tropical chose a chassis with either a Cat C7/3126 engine or Cummins ISC 350, with an Allison 3000 tranny.  You can find National RV chassis specs on the Freightliner Custom Chassis site at https://www.fcccrv.com/coaches/

Diesel pushers rarely have anything like the cold weather or Arctic packages found on trailers or some gas-chassis motorhomes. Their standard equipment usually included the stuff that is optional on lower priced rigs.
