Can't get the end caps off of the rails.  Just starting to feel pretty dumb when I broke off one end cap and found glue residue on it.  No wonder I can't get them off.  Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions.  Still waiting for a response from Forest River.. Thanks

Are you talking about a shade or a blind with slats? Are you referring to the end cap on the bottom bar? You generally don't need to remove any end cap to replace the strings. However, it can be a difficult task, and new ones don;t cost very much. Try Home Dept.

Pleated shades DO REQUIRE end cap removal for cord replacement.  It sounds like you have discovered why they do not come off as designed.  Replacements are available.  Google pleated shade parts or similar.

Here is a great article I found on how to do it with more information on grommets than I had seen elsewhere.

FYI

Just heard from United Shades.  Their shades all have sealed end caps and are not repairable.  As such they have said they are willing to send me a new shade at no charge
