I just pulled off the road at the Sky Casino in NM. and heard a belt squeal. The AIR (Air Injection Reactor) pump is froze up.
I removed the AIR pulley and need to find a belt length or part # for a alternator/water pump belt with out AIR.

Thanks
Richard

The best info I can find says a 47.5" Dayco #5060475 or equivalent 6-rib belt will work.

Thanks Dutch. I'll check that out. The belt lay out is different on the F53 than pickups with 460. But ya never know. My original belt is 50.5"
I'll let ya know how this play out.

Yes, please let us know! As I recall, the only belt difference is on the A/C, power steering layout, Richard. Pickups use a Ford OEM compressor, while the F53's use an aftermarket "dealer installed" compressor that has a different clutch pulley size/positioning. I'm looking at my 75th birthday soon though, so my recall may not be as sharp as it once was...  ;D

Do you have to go all the way to Albuquerque for parts?

Dutch, Ford does install the A/C compressor, condenser & dryer on the F53 at the factory. The brackets are different between the PU and the F53.
I do 74 candles in a few days. I under stand the fog. GRIN I did spend many years wrenching on all things that roll down the road.
Let you know how it turns out. That 3" shorter belt may work.

The compressor used on the F53 460 is listed as a "dealer installed" part, but yes, it is installed at the factory in Mexico.

Bill I suspect the belt you found is for a F53 truck. MHs are laid out different than trucks. I know I need a belt that's more than 1" shorter.
Thanks for your efforts.
I'll pull a tape measure on the pullies tomorrow. Then we;ll now for sure.

Forgot to mention that I'll be able to drive the MH with the generator running to keep the batteries charged. Water pump runs from both belts. So all is good. I'll do some measuring tomorrow and mossy on down the road until I find a parts house.

Keep us informed, it may help someone else down the road.
How is that stroker working? I was going to build one but ended up with a diesel.

The stroker is a hoot! It's kind of fun running up the hills with the 18 wheeler. Or sometimes passing them.

Richard

Issue resolved. Dutch was spot on with the 47.5" belt. Went to a parts house 18 miles west of where we stopped. Purchased a belt and was rolling by 10:00am

Thanks a bunch Dutch, I owe you a cold one or 2 or 3 or 4.
