We're new to RVing and the RV forum.

We are headed to Florida to Florida and we're looking for a nice campground near Venice, FL to spend a few days. Any suggestions that we could check out on the web?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Royal Coachman
Ramblers Rest
Myakka State Park
Oscar Sherer State Park

There are more, just run a google search or a google map search or one of the many campground apps.

If you like birds and animals, you would love Myakka.  Unfortunately, it is probably booked for the rest of winter, but they might have cancellations. Call the ranger station directly on the morning you want to stay there. The newer section near the entrance has full hookups and even a laundry, so it is my favorite.  There is a lot to do there--very slow airboat ride, tram rides, and a canopy walk up in the trees.

Oscar Scherer State Park is also very nice with lots of wild life and trails.

Cell service (Verizon) is weak near the campground, but I have managed with my hot spot to get adequate data.  I have learned to stand outside while talking on the phone there.  It is a little better up near the store on the lake.
