Does anyone know if Joshua Tree is open to traffic? Camping?  I'm about done with the Quartzsite scene, and thought that would be a reasonable next stop.

There are no gates at any of the entrances so you should be able to drive in. I love JT, one of my favorite parks. You also might want to check out the General Patton museum on I-10 just south of the park. It is cool.

You can probably get in but expect the visitor center and restrooms to be closed.

29 Palms is a full size town located right at the entrance to JT so you will be able to get most anything you want there. And JT is the only National Park in the US with a head shop located right at the main entrance.
