Years ago I had one of these citronella collars for my Lhaso Apso. She was initially successfully deterred from barking, but soon learned the rhythm of the warning beep and rather than barking constantly would give a single bark at longer intervals that seemed to outsmart the collar.  Perhaps today the design is more sophisticated.  This is a difficult habit to cure.

Does it work?

I bought a Garmin BarkLimiter? Deluxe.  About $99.  It can vibrate, or shock.  Or gradually increase the level.  It tells you if the dog barked while you were gone.

A shock is a simple correction.  If the dog continues to bark in the RV park, the neighbors would want to do more...

I did say that so far, it has worked pretty good.

We have an E collar on the way....should be here Wed.  It can be set to vibrate only or set to vibrate first, then the second time he barks it will static shock.  Of course it is adjustable in intensity and well be set to the lowest level to start with.  We have discovered that when we leave the house, he sometimes barks for 15 to 20 minutes.  That isn't acceptable even at home, much less in a campground if we need to leave for a short time.

No 2 dogs alike, what works on 50 won't work on one and vice versa. Shock collar on my 120# Shepard, stopped him in his tracks, 100# Lab nope notta.  It's a very fine thing to be able to tune into what any dog needs to be corrected or better yet directed to an end result. Reading what they need .... takes some patience/time/effort.

I followed the link above and I have to say that the feedback on the color was 86% NO WAY! Read the feedback on Amazon before buying. I wouldn't put it on my dogs.

I don't see why the color would be  a problem as long as it works.  If it helps, the color of my dogs collar is blue.    ::) ;D :D

Welcome to the forum. We like to have fun sometimes.  ;D :D ;)  Safe travels.

When we first stayed for a while at an rv park my main concern was my guys barking too much. A little is okay with me but they can sometimes egg each other on so to speak and it can escalate in no time. Didn't want to be a nuisance to others in the park. We found this can of spray called Pet Corrector https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/the-company-of-animals-pet-corrector You don't spray it at them, it's a can that makes a noise and my goodness it did the trick. I only actually used it about 6 times if that, because after that all I had to say was "Red Can" and they knew what that meant and would stop barking. They also make a holster if you like to carry it around on walks. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/the-company-of-animals-pet-corrector-holster

That is really cool, thanks for posting. Do they make one that stops a cat from excessive meowing? One of my cats can drive me nuts at times.  ???
