Coverage Plans for New RV's - What's Best?
« on: February 09, 2018, 01:38:08 PM »
Moving from our 5 year old Class C to a new Class A, due to pickup in a few days.  We did have a plan via the Class C vendor, we know the new vendor will offer their plan, but would like to have some info on what's good or bad, etc.  Rig will have a full one year mfgr warranty at time of pickup.

Also, do we need to buy at day one or can we wait until the mfgr warranty is finished.  Rig is a Winnebago Sunstar. BTW my insurance plan covers roadside assistance for tires, breakdown, accident etc.

Thanks,

Tom and Linda

Are you asking about an extended warranty?
I know you believe you understand what you think I said,
But I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I meant

Yes, a plan to cover tip to tail and all in between.

There is no such thing once the OEM warranty expires. Nobody writes repair insurance (aka "extended warranty") that comes even close to "tip to tail". Plus they are very expensive once the RV is a few years old.

Call Warranty Direct, an agency who writes repair insurance policies for several insurers. See what they have to offer for the new rv. Then lets discuss pros and cons.

Another option you might consider is to pay the premium into your own account.  When a repair comes due use that account.  You have just eliminated the profits the middleman takes. :D
