Just made our reservations at Camden Hills State Park, ME for the Lobster Festival. Still some spots left with water, electric and wifi.

We went to the festival around 2000. They had the Dixie Chicks playing for the night entertainment. This was before they made it big.

We haven't been in years. The Great Crate Race alone is worth the trip.

Sounds like a great event! A little out of our way that time of year.

We stayed at the Saltwater Farm Campground in Thomaston Me. Small CG but clean.

Make it a point to stop at the State Prison Woodworking Store in the center of Thomaston. The prison is long gone but the store is still there. They make some beautiful stuff. Of course, they have plenty of time on their hands.

Went two years ago, stayed in Rockport, had a great time at the lobster fest.  If I remember correctly they served over 60,000 lbs. of lobster in 5 days.   Needless to say the wife and I helped a little bit! ;D

We worked two summers at Camden Hills RV Resort in Rockport (not the state park, which is outside of Camden town). Lobsterfest was our "mobbed" weekend, with all the local parks full, the towns overwhelmed, and more than a few campers who overindulged on their toddies. We had the entire the summer to enjoy Maine's delights, so at Lobsterfest we just hunkered down and didn't try to join the festivites.
