I once tried to build a sofa for a boat. That's when I discovered there are no straight lines on a boat, and I turned it over to a pro.
believe it or not, Menards special order and only 80 dollars for A2 3/4" veneer core. Should have bought a few for that price so it could sit around in the garage for 10 years. hahamsw3113 said:Yah, as I age, multiple measurements are a must.
You do nice work, you should be proud.
That is some attractive q/s oak! Do you source it locally?
curves are challenging, lots of scribing and templates, I used to work for a custom stair company in St. Charles, IL. lots of curved work there.Tom said:I once tried to build a sofa for a boat. That's when I discovered there are no straight lines on a boat, and I turned it over to a pro.
Yes, Ikea, had to trim about 2" off one end. There are different lengths for single, queen and king I think. Much easier than the zig zag furniture springs.Graycat said:love this! I've been thinking of rebuilding my dinette into an L shape and the springy support was a concern. Did you make your own slats or buy them from somewhere like Ikea? If you bought them, did you have to recut them to fit?
The cushions were made by a shop in Seneca, IL. she has a shop out in back of her house, and does top notch work. No soft close, they are self closing KV full extensionsGraycat said:Nice job! Where did you get your cushions too? Are the drawers on soft close slides or do you have something else to keep them from opening when you are moving?
