I once tried to build a sofa for a boat. That's when I discovered there are no straight lines on a boat, and I turned it over to a pro.

Yah, as I age, multiple measurements are a must.

You do nice work, you should be proud.

That is some attractive q/s oak!  Do you source it locally?
believe it or not, Menards special order and only 80 dollars for A2 3/4" veneer core. Should have bought a few for that price so it could sit around in the garage for 10 years. haha

curves are challenging, lots of scribing and templates, I used to work for a custom stair company in St. Charles, IL. lots of curved work there.

Did a dry fit tonight, with the narrow cabinet between booth and sofa. My wife said the narrow cabinet will be good for shallow pans and cookie sheets , sure will be looking for those cookies from now on. Hoped to get this all done this week but, with my 8 year old grandson things are moving slower, but he's well worth it.

My wonderful wife got started with the peel and stick faux tile around the kitchen area walls, looks great hope it hangs on. Wanted to do it the real way but cannot keep adding weight to this old P-30.

I hate the wild grain but, once the table top is there it won't be so noticable. Should have used the quartersawn on those bottom panels, oh well, my wife want's get camping this year sometime and, for me to stop working on this.

slowly moving along, I decided to put a rev-a-shelf rollout unit that is 5" wide in the 8" cabinet between the booth and the sofa. Originally i had bought chrome wire sheet dividers but I didn't like the idea and so I surprised with this. I was going to make one but for 91.00 shipped this was the better choice even though I had to shorten it 1".  Hope to be all finished by end of the month and use my last 8 days of vacation someplace in this. also i laminated the top of the little cabinet with what the dinette top will have and, added a receptacle with USB ports

bought the drawers for the sofa and booth benches from a drawer company in Az. Nice 5/8" baltic birch dovetailed, for their price it's not worth making my own. You can purchase them assembled or unassembled, finished or unfinished, I buy them unassembled to save on shipping. Kind of funny that the new tariff tax on imported goods has increased their price a bit since last time I ordered, the plywood comes from Russia and another place over that way that I cannot remember.

love this!  I've been thinking of rebuilding my dinette into an L shape and the springy support was a concern.  Did you make your own slats or buy them from somewhere like Ikea?  If you bought them, did you have to recut them to fit?

Yes, Ikea, had to trim about 2" off one end. There are different lengths for single, queen and king I think. Much easier than the zig zag furniture springs.

finally finished up the dinette, sofa and small cabinet. Ready to start wallpapering tomorrow. Going to wait on the upper cabinets this year and start up again in the spring unless I find some indoor storage with heat. I found the recessed pulls that I like, chrome usually isn't my thing but, I liked these.

Nice job!  Where did you get your cushions too?  Are the drawers on soft close slides or do you have something else to keep them from opening when you are moving?

The cushions were made by a shop in Seneca, IL. she has a shop out in back of her house, and does top notch work. No soft close, they are self closing KV full extensions

my wife hung the nice vinyl wallpaper and I got started laying the Bamboo flooring.
