Hello
First time user: helping a friend rebuild  from a fire caused by a faulty refrigerator.
removed all the damage, can't get any of the three slides to work from the switches or the leveling jacks. will work if hooked up directly to motors. Also can a roof vented refrigerator be put in vented to the side of the slide like old one was. any advise or help would be appreciated.

Is this on the 2006 Bounder named in the title?  Not all Rvs systems are the same, so need to be sure.  In general, though, the slides and the leveling jacks each have their own controller and receive power more-or-less direct from the battery bank via a power  relay.  Depending on the year of the coach, the power may come from house batteries or chassis batteries.  If the slides are hydraulic, they may share the pump and power source with the jacks. Start testing at the controllers, which may include the power relay, and work toward the batteries or the motors, depending on what you find  at the controller.

The fridge model is the same whether vented through the roof or out the side - it's only the installation procedure that differs. Basically the baffles that direct the air flow are different. The installation manual for the fridge usually covers that in detail. What fridge make.model are you thinking of installing? Have you considered a residential fridge as an alternative?
 
If it's a diesel bounder I can send you the appropriate pages in the manual(s).  Have you checked the fuses?  Have you tried moving the slides with the engine running?
 
If the fridge is in a slide, it MUST vent out the side wall.  A top vent would be inside the RV when the slide is in.  You could not run the fridge with the slide in.  The top seal with the vent would be really tricky.

Sorry about not responding sooner got called out of town. Going to start on it again tomorrow, the house hold refrigerator seems logical and cost effective, never considered that, thanks.
Will start from the batterys and relays and will let you know on the next post.
