Last week I was moving our travel trailer from our house to other property we owned. I knew the battery was dead but figured I would deal with it when I arrived.  When I got to the destination I discovered that the power awning was messed up. It looked like the awning had unrolled about 2 feet, and the wind pressure had bent the arms back. So now I think I have to replace the whole shebang. Is it possible that the dead battery somehow was to blame?

Possible... Well that is hard to say but in an infinite world all things are possible if not impossible.

Likely. NO. without power the brake on the electric motor should be "Set" (locked)
