I'm not sure if this is the right place......not a real remodel but I thought y'all might have dealt with this.

The workstation /desk / glove box cover has a plastic cover on it that is splitting and peeling off.

Any ideas on how to recover it? Just seal and paint it? Other ideas?

I've decided to make a new one using maple plywood and stain to match-ish the rest of the wood in the RV. I'll use the old one as a pattern.....

Mine looked like yours. I peeled the plastic veneer off, sanded and painted the wood, and put heavy duty contact paper in the recessed part.
Here's the finished result.
