any "must sees" or other points of interest along the 94?  we will have already been thru Sturgis and Black Hills (staying a few days each) as well as YSNP.  I was considering staying on the 90 so as to go thru Nebraska, but it's quite a detour.  I do want to see the SAC museum in Ashland, but will likely do that on the way home.

thanks in advance!  :)

Theodore Roosevelt National Park along I-94 just into N. Dakota.  Actually, there are 2 sections, one further up north along US 85.  Lots of wildlife and more buffalo (I know, I know - bison) and beautiful scenery.  Lot less congested than places like Yellowstone and Black Hills.

Absolutely don't miss Theodore National Park.  We breezed through there two years ago and loved it so much we're going back this year. The beautiful painted canyon, wild horses, prairie dog towns, the Maltez Falcom history, and shows in Medora.

We went to Medora 2 years ago.The Cowboy Fondue and stage show were terrific. We also drove through TRNP southern loop and were a bit disappointed in it. Custer SP in SD had much more wildlife (But that was in 2007).

Billings has a few interesting places, check their website and the AAA MT book  also the ND and MN ones too.  Miles city has some interesting sites as well.  I'm not sure about Glendive any more as it has been too long since I lived there or even visited.  I'll try to find my MT books and see what I can point out.

Bozeman has the museum of the Rockies which is worth while especiall if you are interested in dinosaurs.

Interesting.  We saw lots of buffalo as they came sauntering right through the campground and we saw many deer, antelope, and even several big horns.  The trick is to take the back roads just at sunset.

If for any reason you decide to drop down to I-90 again, stop at Exit 131 to see the National Park Service Minuteman Missile Historic Site.  Definitely a Cold War relic.  I should know as I was on the Air Force launch crew that accepted it from Boeing in July 1963.

Still looking for my MT books but Glendive has an interesting state Park, I know I will miss spell it, Makoseka.  It is badlands and we used to camp in it many years ago when I was in the scouts.

If you are on I-90 and looking for a place to camp, at Chamberlain, where the Missouri crosses the highway, go north either on state 47 from Reliance just west of Chamberlain or take state 50 north from Chamberlain to state 34 to Ft Thompson. There is a COE campground below the dam in the middle of the Missouri River, very scenic and the campground is nice, and not too far from the interstate  (20 miles give or take).

https://www.recreation.gov/camping/left-tailrace-campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=150041

There is also a rest stop on the interstate at the river (east side) and is well worth the stop (museum of sorts and the Dignity statue) plus going north on 50 thru town is the Akta Lakota Museum & Cultural Center.

I havent stayed there, but there is also a private campground right on the river, in Chamberlain, http://www.americancreekcampground.net/index.htm and one on the west side of the river just north of Business 90, https://arrowwoodcedarshore.com/, however I will take the COE campground any day, for price and scenery.

thanks everybody!  Notes taken......and yes, the minuteman sites are high on my list!
The site link is:  https://www.nps.gov/mimi/index.htm

Be sure to call ahead and make reservations if you decide to go down into the launch control center below ground.  That is the only part that needs a reservation because they can only take 6 at a time on the elevator.
