As previously reported, I have a couple outside lights to replace.  Don't ask why.

I have the fixtures.  There is no gasket or seal provided for between the fixture and outside wall or anything to seal around the mounting screws.

1.  Is there a need to seal between the fixture / plastic housing and the camper siding?

2.  What is recommended to seal around the screw holes and around the wire?  I hear NO SILICONE - EVER!! on an RV.  Is this a rare exception?

The replacements appear to be the same size as the originals.

Many lights have a foam gasket that's sold separately. Or you can probably use a butyl putty between the light and siding. Using Geocell caulk between the light and siding would work also. A bead of Geocell around the light after mounting the light should work. When I put a bead around mine, I left about a 1/2" gap at the bottom for drainage just in case of water intrusion.
