When I signed up with Facebook, maybe 8 years ago, I listed my prior employer. A year or two later, I removed the name and other personal data. That was at least 5 years ago. Within the last month when looking at my page, there it was, my old employer. Not in the typical area, but none-the-less, it was still there. IIRC, one of those memory lane type views. Not sure others could see that specific page, but there it was, my old employer. So it would seem, removed but still available to Facebook for their (and perhaps others) use.
