My exhaust system is in need of replacement from the muffler back.  The rv dealership wants about $1200 to replace. That's too much Bob! I'm in Northeast OH. Custom shops work with 3" pipes, my motorhome workhorse chassis has 4" pipes. Any ideas how or where to proceed from here?

4" exhaust piping is available most everywhere,,but you will probably not find it at most muffler shops that do auto's. Check out large over the road truck repair shops that commonly deal with 4" tubing for heavy trucks. They are skilled at this type system.>>>Dan

If its just muffler-back, it's not a bad DIY job and you can get 4" mufflers and components on Amazon, Ebay, etrailer, etc. O'Reilly's Auto stores also advertise 4" exhaust components, as do NAPA stores.

But if you want a shop to do everything, go to a local truck shop, a Freightliner or Cat service center, or maybe even a Cummins Coach Care facility.

Another alternative is to buy the parts online yourself and find a small local mechanical shop to install.  They don't really need a lift or a pit to do just the muffler(s) and back, so a tech willing to work outside and use a crawler can do the job.

Do you have a pic?, if yours is like mine it's just a short piece of pipe with a turn down. I did away with my muffler and went straight out the back with 4" stainless steel and mitered a two piece 45 on the end. If you were closer I still have some pipe left over.
