I did a search on the forum and found some comments, but nothing concrete. Does anyone have recent experience with a service that transfers 8mm to DVD?

I would also like a digital (e.g., MP4) of each for archive purposes.

Thx

Answering my own question, looks like Costco does it for $20/tape

I have had several done by Costco, keep an eye out, they have specials every now and then to save a few bucks on that setvice.

Any reason why you aren't putting it on thumb memory?  DVD is going the way of the floppy drives.

I?m looking to do both. I?m pretty sure DVD has many years left (no one is releasing movies on thumb drives that I?m aware of) but as I said in my original post I do want the digital version as well for long term archiving purposes. Costco?s vendor does not do this; I?m waiting to hear back from a place in Houston that restores the videos, burns to DVD plus supplies the digital version.
