Is it better to run ac in on position than auto when leaving rv with pets inside. I'm fulltime rv living and work 7 hrs a day. The unit cycles off about every 15 minutes when on auto. I'm concerned about the fan starting and stopping so often on an all day basis. It operates fine just concerned for best operation.

The fan itself doesn't make that much difference on wear or power draw on the AC. Leaving it on may help circulate the air better thereby reducing the frequency that the AC compressor kicks on. You didn't indicate what kind of rig you have,  or where you are camped.  Older campgrounds can suffer severe voltage drops in the summer and may kick off the circuit breaker on your pedestal.  If that happens, the AC won't run period.  The best scenario is if you have a rig with an on board generator and a "auto gen start" if the power fails. If not, you are at the mercy of the campground power.
