Does anyone know where the best place in west nc would be to buy new roofing material?

What exactly are you looking for? New EPDM or TPO membrane or maybe aluminum sheet?  Lap sealant?  Wood or metal supports?

For most of that stuff I would order online, both for availability and a better price than any local store. Best Materials is one good source; so is PPL Motorhomes. I've done business with both.

Beside Amazon & Ebay, some other sources include:

http://tweetys.com/search.aspx?manufacturer=168
http://www.rvpartscountry.com/RVRoofRepairKits

I would second the suggestion from Gary to buy online. I got a kit last year for my older 24' RV from PPL Motorhomes that was relatively inexpensive and included everything I needed.  Can't remember what all the options are from PPL, but most sites have options for both types of roofing material, adhesive, lap sealant etc., shipped to your door in a few days.  The job is labor intensive but not overly complicated.

Before buying online, you can always get a quote from the dealer. There's one by my work that has some things inflated, but for a lot of things, they aren't much more expensive (if not cheaper than online).

IMO, a lot of online merchants can inflate their prices because that is where people go that don't know where to but the stuff. Looking for trim, a lot of online places wanted $50 a piece plus shipping. At the dealer, I was able to get it for $33 and had it in 2 days coming from the warehouse instead of a week for ground shipping. Due to the convenience, I am also willing to pay a few bucks more at the dealer to have it sooner too.

cerd is right - you still have to shop around.  Online isn't automatically cheaper.    I buy a lot online because I can get the specific product I want/need, whereas stores and RV dealers typically have a limited selection or are pushing some specific product.  Sometimes I pay more to get the exact thing I need rather than a generic mass-market product.
