Domestic fridge. Used ice maker last time out and now not getting any water into it.  I just did notice it says leave arm up (off) until water present to maker. Wondering now does that mean leave off after even after hooking up water.  I might have jumped the gun and put in on position right after hookup.

Check the small plastic tubing that goes from the water solenoid to the ice maker itself. They have a habit of breaking/disappearing in the back of the refer.

In many trailers/motor homes that ice maker is fed through a filter and that it may have a shut-off in the line so the filter can be changed out easily. Check to see if you have water to the input of the water solenoid behind the refer and any shut off, if any, is on.

Three things affet the operatio.
1: There is a valve. on my Fridge it's in the outside fridge compartment, (The Fridge access panel on the outisde)
2: The solenoid, is also located in that same compartment on the "Back" of the fridge
3: The swich on the ice maker..

With the ARM DOWN once the ice tray gets down to the trip temp (I think 25 degrees but it might be clolder) the unit starts. a timer motor runs and a heater element (U-Whaped hence the brand name U-Line) is fired up.  The heater melts ice already in the tray just enough to let it slide out (NOTE this is the cresent type ice cubes There is another type)

WHen the "Fingers" on the shaft hit the ice, the timer motor stalls. till the heater melts the surface of the cubes (Contact surface) then it pushes the ice out of the tray  Other fingerw not moving "Strip" the cubes off the moving fingers as it goes round but befor ethat happens a cam shaft closes a switch (NOTE another cam holds a switch closed during all this because the heater will re-open the thermostat) this adjustable switch s3nds power to the solenoid opening the water valve.

Possible issues
No water
Supply valve off
Solonoid failure (Rare)
swich failure (Rare)
Swicch adusted so far out it's not closing (possible but not common)
Ice block in water pate (Common)

Solutions
Open valves. and defrost covers most of the common issues.

May be outside.  Arm is down (was all night) but feeling inside unit, there appears to be no water.

Putting the arm up/down prematurely is NOT the problem.

As John described, there is a solenoid and water valve outside at the rear of the fridge. That and the ice maker itself requires 120v power to operate, so make sure you have power.

The solenoid is wired to the ice maker and feeds water to it via 1/4 tube.  Possible problems are:
1. No 120v power to icemaker or to solenoid
2. Broken/disconnected water tube from solenoid to to ice maker
3. No water feed to the solenoid from the main water line (many RVs have a shut-off valve somewhere for that line)
4. Failed solenoid5. Failed ice maker circuit board [rare].

Replacement water solenoids are readily available:https://www.adventurerv.net/dometic-ice-maker-water-valve-kit-p-28903.html
