I have a 2003 bounder 35E . all the trailer lights work with the exception of the break lights . there is no power at the plug for break lights . my turn lights on the plug has power . the turn lights and break lights are separate on the coach . is there a converter on the bounded like I have on my car ?????? if so where might it be located .  I am thinking maybe a bad converter since my tail lights , turn lights and four way lights work fine on the toad , just no break lights .

The 7-pin trailer connector does not have a standardized pin layout for separate stop & turn signals, so motorhome manufacturers get creative in re-assigning them. I think Fleetwood put the brake lights on the brake pin and used the center (Aux/Backup) terminal for the actual electric brake control line.  A call to Fleetwood Customer Service should get you info on how they wired the trailer connector.  Or, have somebody step on the coach brake pedal while you use a voltmeter to see what pin has the +12v for the brake lights. Check them all, cause there are multiple pins with 12v but only one that switches on/off with the brake pedal.

If the towed unit has combined stop & tail lights, you need  a converter box  to match the signals. Alternatively, put a combiner on the coach side ahead of the 7-pin plug and rewire the 7-pin to standard layout.

Here is one solution for a trailer:

Read Gary's response.  It is accurate.

Does the coach have a 4 wire plug for a trailer?  If it does, use it.  Otherwise, follow Gary's advise to figure out which wires you need.  Here is a diagram of "normal" wiring.

Right, but the standard 7-->4 pin adapter assumes the 7-pin outlet has the standard wiring to its terminals, and your does not.  The brake lights are normally on the same terminals as the left & right turn signals (each is a combined stop & turn), but that is not the case on your coach. The standard 7/4 adapter won't work.
