Hi all,

Got a couple questions on our trailer. Its a 2000, 18ft Nomad. Its in very good condition, however the siding looks like it could use some wax etc. Is there anything special to use or technique to cleaning/waxing the sides?

ALso, the Decals on a couple spots have deteriorated and are peeling. Is there anywhere online or place that you can buy or have new graphic Decals made? just curious. This is called a Nomad Roadrunner so there are a couple sticker Decals of a Roadrunner on it that are peeling.

On the same subject there is also some pin striping that is faded, is there anywhere to buy new roles of pin striping that could be used?

One last question: one of the stickers is almost gone, how can you safely get the remainder of the image sticker off the siding?

thanks in advance.

As to replacement decals, try this current thread in this same section of the forum:

As to removing old decals, any of the vinyl ones come off reasonably well with a hair dryer and a PLASTIC scraper. DO NOT USE A METAL SCRAPER.  Get it just hot enough to soften the vinyl, then scrape it off.  Sometimes, if you are fortunate, you can grab an edge and just peel it off as long as it stays warm.

Pin striping tape can be had at most auto accessories places.

As to waxing / restoring the finish, try this thread:

Contact any good sign/graphics shop to make new decals for you.  As an option go to a local auto paint store, pick the colors you need and have them make some rattle cans of paint up for you.  Clean the old vinyl graphics off, mask and paint them on.  Cheaper, longer lasting.  As for waxing, I assume you might have aluminum siding?  If so, be very careful trying to use abrasives.  The baked on finish is very thin and you could rub right thru the paint.  Instead wash and a good automotive wax is about the best you can do.
