So, I downloaded the WMV file so that I could send it to two sons who have an interest in aviation.
One of them is also the family skeptic when it comes to today's visual media. He viewed it and remarked that it was an interesting demonstration that enough power would fly a brick and expressed his concern for the A4 pilot (and here I quote the rest of his reply to me):
------------
Didn't say what happened to the A4 pilot - doubt he was as lucky.
Trivia questions? This where I get too picky
1) Why does the video appear to show a pair of (Super?)Sabres at one
point?
2) When the pilot says he 'shot a missile' either he was shooting at a
drone (possible but doubtfull) or he had a simulator under his wing with
all the same electronics but no warhead or propulsion. The footage of a
missile shooting is almost certainly theater.
3) The landing footage is faked, or maybe to be more generous
"simulated" - multiple problems:
3a) On approach: The airbrake is up, flaps down and rudders at neutral.
I'll bet you a buck that's not the configuration he landed in on that
day.
3b) On approach: Look carefully at the tailplane during the approach
(starboard tailplane appears to missing a few feet) and the walk-around
after the landing (starboard tailplane appears intact) - though the
airbrake is up at this point.
3c) Where did the center-line drop tank go?
3d) roll-out is inconsistant - some shots don't show the barrier, others
show it.
A quick check seems to corroborate the incident but I don't think there
was a lot of film from the incident used

What do the fly-boys on the forum think?
