Gen set has been working but today running both a/c and microwave the microwave stopped. Not sure about a/c since I was outside. Generator continued to run but the gen on light was off? Turned gen off and restarted; gen light on but would not switch to external power. Currently not at a place to plug in to test EMS etc. Is there an overload breaker on the gen and if so where? Is there some other breaker or how does power distribut through system? Have Onan Marquis Gold 5500
Thanx!

The good news is that a circuit breaker tripped the bad is that the EMS system should control that unless mistaken? Our coach does not have the EMS display on the panel but it is installed according to paperwork.

The EMS can only control loads to a certain extent. You have to know hat your generator can support and not go beyond that.

If you have 30-amp power and were running both the a/c and the microwave, that's probably what caused it to trip, especially if there were other things contributing to the load.  When we're plugged into 30-amp we usually have to turn something off, such as the a/c, when we want to use the microwave.  Another "power hog" is a hair dryer.  If you have 50-amp it should be able to handle more load, both the a/c and the microwave simultaneously.
