Have a 2000 Adventure with a heat pump and the evaporate will freeze up. Shut it off and then ten min later it will drains out a lot of water and turn it back on and  it works good for several days drains water out the drain and then it will do it again. Air filter has been changed. Air flow seems good until it freezes up. Ideas?

This can happen in humid weather, so not sure that anything needs fixing. The more often doors are opened, more humid air enters and ends up collecting on the heat exchanger.

Is this basement air or roof?  Where is this water draining? If ice is on the evaporator in a roof unit, it must be inside the RV? If a basement a/c system, leaky ducts could be allowing humid air to enter the system.

It is a floor unit . I can tell the a.c. Is going to act up when there is no water coming out the drain. Shut down the unit until I  see water or condensation drain out restart and it works fine for a day or a week  its just aggravating

Normal in humid weather. Run the fan on high if you have a choice, and set the temperature just a tiny bit below coldest to allow the compressor to cycle off occasionally for a few minutes
