how do i id the the light
I need a ballast

Often, it is as easy to replace a fixture as it is to fix one.  RVUpgrades is a sponsor here, and offers a wide choice of lights at very good prices.  I have purchased from them several times.

Pop the translucent cover off and the model info and ballast part number ought to be visible inside.  This guide should help:

Or bypass the ballast and install 12v led instead, either a led tube that snaps in with minor wire change, or remove the tubes and balalst and glue in led strips.

Thats the answer. Less expensive and less heat build up
