I am looking at a Class A 2003 Newmar Mountain Aire (38') and a 2003 Holiday Rambler (36'). Both are gasoline engines. Assuming the price is about the same and miles are same, I'm trying to figure out which one is the best value overall. I had a London Aire 5th wheel and it was very nice, but have never had a class A in either of these brands. Any comments will be appreciated. I am curious about the structure of them, the roof, walls etc. Major problems, major pluses or minuses? I've heard that the HR has metal sides, so no delam problems. I am not trying to start a brawl between owners of either brand, but I really would like to know some of the good and bad points of either/both.

Check into this list,https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NEWMAROWNERS/ for details on Newmar MHs I think I would go with the Newmar because of how they are built. That is not to say there is anything wrong with the Holiday.
I am somewhat biased in that I have had a Newmar Diesel pusher or a long time and know how they are built and insulated.
Check the prices for the comparable Dutch Star Diesel pusher for the same time. it will be a much better overall MH and you may be surprised at the price. A 2000 Dutch star blue book ranges from about $25K to $35K from low to high retail. You should be able to do better.

My 2004 36' Monaco has a HR label on the front so I suspect it's basically the same as mine.
If somebody stole my coach tonight I'd go out and look for the exact same year, make and model. We really like ours.
I've not had any delamination problems. Everything has held up pretty good over the past 14 years and 90,000 miles.
I think both RV's are pretty good units.

I'd give the Newmar a very slight edge in build quality but I doubt if the difference would be significant. Both use the Workhorse W22 chassis and both companies have a reputation for good quality (well, as good as an RV typically gets, anyway).
Frankly, I would be looking for other differences to base my decision upon, primarily suitability of the floor plan and features as well as the condition.
