Resetting ?change eng oil? reminder in 8.1 Vortec

Faithfully changed the oil every 3-4 thousand miles in our Workhorse w24. Last change we switched to synthetic and the oil minder has come on and we have a few thousand miles to go before the minder is correct.
Is resetting this something I can do?

From memory. Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Press the accelerator to the floor three times in five seconds. Turn the key to the "off" position, and then back to the "on" position. The light should be off.

Right close.. They told me to turn off, floor it 3 times in 5 seconds as above. then turn off again and START it. do not know if you need to actually start it or just turning on is enough.

But it worked for me.
