Hello!

Currently have a 2016 Keystone Premier TT (regret that purchase) and have lived in it x2 years as a travel nurse.

Looking to start a family and thinking of an upgrade to 5th wheel. Will never purchase keystone again, such cheap materials!

Suggestions on best manufacturers or ones to stay away from?

Would like to buy slightly used.

Thanks!

keystone as a brand makes many many different trailer makes from airstream to zinger they all fall under the thor name

If you are thinking 5th wheel trailers, consider first what you will use to tow it. You can normally tow a bigger travel trailer than a 5th wheel as many trucks will run out of carrying capacity before towing capacity. A 5th wheel places  20-25% of it loaded weight on the truck whereas a travel trailer places only about 10-12% on the truck.

As far as manfacturers, there's not a lot of choices out there. You just have to look at their top model lines. And they will still have issues.

Many manufacturers offer a broad line of trailers (or coaches), from bargain basement to near-luxury class. MSRP is a fairly good indicator for similarly equipped rigs, because extreme price competition in the RV industry keeps any manufacturer from simply raising prices to make more money.  If two similar size & equipped trailers have a much different price, you can be confident that the less expensive one has skimped somewhere, probably somewhere not readily visible.  It may be something you don't care about, but there will be a difference somewhere. It may be the chassis and running gear, or maybe the quality of upholstery & flooring and cabinetry.

Most manufacturers only offer their best models as 5W, simply because buyers will to spend more typically also want 5W rather than TT.

This looks like a popular topic here today!  :D
