Hello, I am hoping to get some help, I am nieve to the camper world and while Im sure I could spend days reading online about them Im not trying to make my career out of them just yet.

I bought it cause I am clearing some property in Dunnellin Fl and so I am there on the weekends and Im tired of not having a shower/bathroom, comfy place to sleep the one night. For me buying this and hoping I can make it last a few years more made the most sense.

I like the unit, seems in pretty good shape considering its an 88 but not perfect by a long stretch.

My goal is NOT to restore it ( I have a tendency of restoring everything I buy ) but instead make it livable for as many years as I am able. I plan to park it and not move it unless necessary.

I plan to use my generator with it ( the one that I havent touched and still dosent work that I made some posts about.....Im always sidetracked )

Here are some pictures, I will first post general pictures and then question pictures.

The guy told me everything worked.... I know ZIP about any of this.....and I mean ZIP.

Supposedely it originally had a propane fridge, it was removed and this was put in its place. As far as what I was told it works fine.

This is what I need help with, he said it worked and yet when I asked him to prove it he could not get it to work. I know ZERO about this heater furnace except I was told it was propane and I know that I DO need to get it working.

Im assuming its not rocket science but I dont know where to start

Here is the bathroom. He said the water worked when he hooked up his hose from the outside but when he tried to get it to work from the holding tank it did not work, I dont know much else about that.....I dont know much about holding tanks, I can see what I am assuming is the pump thats supposed to pump the water around to the shower and the sinks/toilets.

I need help to figure all this out, must be a way to check all of this for myself. He put a brand new batter on the front of the trailer and he told me that the pump would work off of that.

He said the propane stove worked fine when he tested it. Not sure how to operate it myself safely

1: That furnace needs propane and it needs to be turned on. 2: It also requires 12V (battery) in good shape or a good 12V supply from the converter. Once you have propane turned on, run the stove a bit to help clear any air from the propane lines. It also requires the thermostat set to"gas heat' and a temperature that would cause the thermostat to request heat.

Exactly what happens when you try all of the above???

He said he couldnt get it lit.

I looked VERY closely and found no rot whatsoever except the front door itself has issues. Not sure what Im gonna do about this.

I have looked at alot of campers and Ive looked at ALOT of garbage people were trying to pass off as not rotten. Ive got an eye for it now I think and I think this one is pretty darn good

At this point the casing is coming off the wooden backer, I need to get this fixed without making a huge project out of it.

Looks good to me. Good price, dry, hard to go wrong.

If you start using the toilet and shower, you will have to start dumping the tanks.  Only there on Sat night, I'd use it as shelter, a decent bed, and enjoy.  I could spend hours typing the basics, you could spend 10 minutes watching a youtube video that explained the basics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkY1LFSP-Ec

We will be happy with questions, but I think you should learn what a water heater, furnace vent, water filling, etc is first.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out, I took it to a mobile home park today to see if I could get some answers, the one guy I talked with was helpful, I then called around and found someone at Camper world that was real helpful as well.

Seems like this thing is real simple and basic and I like it that way.

I bought an adapter so I could plug the thing into my house and test things. I was able to find out the A/C seems to work very well.

I am more familiar with the camper now and I understand the responses. I had literally just brought it home and took the pictures to post online

Great to hear.  You probably will have better luck posting single questions per thread, sometimes 5 questions in one thread gets all over the place.  Ask away, there are some really good folks on here that will help you a ton.  I'm handy, might be able to help, but man have I learned a lot just reading their posts.

This is a great video

Welcome to the Forum!

Glad you got those initial questions answered.

Lighting the stove - my way:  I use a long nose butane lighter (candle lighter?), ignite it, hold the flame near the burner and turn it on.  Hold the flame there until it lights all the way around, and stays lit.
Newer stoves have igniters, older ones may have a pilot light.

Tanks:
Fresh tank holds (ready?  drum roll)  fresh, drinkable, potable water.  It uses an on board 12V pump to provide water to the faucets, and it has a separate ON / OFF switch.
Gray water holds waste from the sinks and shower.
Black water holds toilet waste.

Read lots of our Library articles for help on specific topics and read lots of threads here for a great education.
