Well after fixing the Heater the toilet is now leaking at base. Its a porcelain toilet.
Do RV porcelain toilets have the same wax ring that my toilet does at home. This seems to be the most logical fix at this point.
Any advice?

several informative youtube videos on how to approach this.

Before you dismount the toilet check the place where the water enters the back of the bowl.  There is a rubber gasket there that wears out often.  If that gasket leaks, water flows down the back of the bowl to the floor and capillary action will spread it all the way around making you think it?s the flange gasket.  Seen it more than once.

This exactly what you need to fix the bowl.

The porcelain part only goes half way down the pedestal then it is plastic the rest of the way to the floor.  It is a bonded joint between the plastic and the porcelain.  This is often the spot where it leaks, not at the floor seal.  Check the pedestal all around for streaks indicating that porcelain/plastic seam is leaking.  This is a factory problem and the only fix is to seal around that seam.  It is a bonded seam and will not come apart.  You may have to remove the toilet, tape around the seam and squeeze in a coat or two of sealant it that is where your leak is.

I had two Dometic (Sealand) toilets replaced under warranty due to this problem.  Others have not been able lately to get a free replacement, but sealing the seam works if that is your leak area.  At first I thought it was my floor seal or water valve leaking.  Chect the other areas mentioned here also.

Bob

Until we hear from the OP as to what name and model RV toilet they have, It's hard to recommend what parts to order. Although, you could be right.

Rene, Bob has the same rig as I so i assume that is what he meant.

I added water to the toilet bowl and it did not leak out. However still get a little water at base.

So there's no need to change out the ball and ball seal.

Rene,

My links were for the current problem and for future reference.  CJAG and I have been PM'ing and I have been helping him out we have the exact same rig.  When I did this repair since I had the bowl out I rebuilt the entire thing because I didn't want to have to go back in a year and do the ball valve.  Thanks for your help and to others, might see you this year if there is another mini rally around the Tampa RV show.

Bob
