Below is a topic on another forum. Most of the topic is probably of little use to many here, but the last current post (#14) has me wondering.

Maybe Rapid Raptor (Fast Eagle) can elaborate, as he gets into this sort of thing pretty heavily.
 
Sure confused me. If true, then a tire load rating upgrade with the original wheels and axles would be OK because your limiting loads are the axles/wheels (assuming the RV is not loaded beyond its original weight limits)? So the benefit of higher load rated tires would be stronger more durable tires which would also run cooler (assuming the tires are or above the cold pressure for the actual wheel weight)?

I always thought that the wheel for the higher load tire (eg G) would be both stronger and bigger. But if not and the actual wheel weights remained no higher than that of the lower rated tires (or axles), then no need to upgrade the wheel.
