clear windows

My friend has a popup that someone decided to put a slash in his clear window over the dinette as well as three other windows in the cloth. Cloth was sewn up pretty good, but does anyone know what can be done about the clear window? It has clear tape on it, but, doesn't look that good. Wonder if anyone think it's possible to cut out the old one about an inch from the seam and glue another piece on . And what kind of glue might work or heat possibly. Just checking to see if anyone has done this. Thanks

The real fix is to remove the fabric and have a new vinyl window stitched in. Pricey, even if you do the fabric removal.

This article claims some success using a vinyl cement.

You might want to talk to someone who sews awnings, tarps, and truck covers. They could probably do this replacement easily if you can figure out how to take the fabric off the pop up.

Take the panel (or trailer) to someone that does marine canvas.
They can cut the plastic out and stitch new plastic in.
They do not split all the seams, very tiny amount of plastic stays in but you would need to really look to see it.
On one of my boats, I had 3 or 4 plastic windows repaired like this to last a season before doing all new canvas.

Cost was not un-reasonable.
