I always wondered why Rock bands didn't exploit the virtues of a steel guitar.
High Hopes from the P.U.L.S.E. starting at 5:27, one of the best solos of all time.kdbgoat said:PJ, thanks for the links )
Tom, I never knew Gilmore used a steel guitar, I learn something new everyday. )
PULSE is my all time favorite concert album. I have watched it well over 1000 times. Sorrow is my all time favorite song that wasn't written by the Beatles. However the CD and the DVD are slightly different. The three minute guitar solo at the end has the last two minutes overdubbed on the CD that is different than the DVD. The CD versions is my all time favorite guitar solo.kdbgoat said:Sweet! Thank. I always assumed he played that on his Strat. Pulse is one of my favorite albums, love the bass on Sorrow. It'll rattle everything in the house. I'm also an old Wishbone Ash fan, and knew Ted Turner played a lap steel.

Unfortunately more and more of it is becoming relabeled (or mislabeled) rock.SeilerBird said:Thank goodness. It is better than ever.
Rock and country are twin sons of different mothers. Music always progresses and people always complain because it is progressing. But very few people buy Hank Williams Sr recordings.Larry N. said:Unfortunately more and more of it is becoming relabeled (or mislabeled) rock.
But that doesn't make it better, just different. And I disagree that this change is "progress" -- change, yes; progress, no. But opinions...SeilerBird said:...Music always progresses and people always complain because it is progressing.
