On my 2003 Coleman Santa fee they put the thermostat in a really odd place, under the dinette. It's hard to reach and impossible to see what you're doing in the dark. I'm thinking about moving the location for it over by the door, however it will require more wire. Is there any problem with having a greater length of wire to the thermostat, or is there a certain distance from the power invertor it needs to be ?
Thanks for any advice

I changed the thermostat on ours to a digital, & used a coil cord (kinda like a phone handset cord) to attach it.  It stores in the dinette storage when traveling, when setting up, I hang up above the sink....works great.  Definitely cured the wide temperature swings.

No problem. The power for the thermostat is 12v, and the signal to the furnace or a/c is also analog (+12v), so adding several feet of wire won't interfere in any way.  Actual power (amperage) is low, but use wire at least as large a wire gauge as is already there.
