Has any one used the after market carb for 4K Onan generators. If so did you have good or bad luck with it. thanks in advance..

Just for some clarification here

4000 is the watt output rating, not a model, over the years there have been a number of Onan RV generator models that were offered with 4,000 watts of output

Emerald I, Emerald II, Micro-Lite, Micro-Quiet, QG, etc are model families not specific model

Onan models are 2 or 3 character letter combinations such as CCK, BGE, NH, NHE, KY, etc.

When ordering parts you need to know the model and the spec code, the spec code is usually a single letter (though it can be a 2 letter code on some non RV onan generators).

The smaller 3,600 - 4000 watt Onan generators built for the last 22-23 years are all KY models, though they have been marketed under 3 different model families, originally Micro-Lite, which changed to Micro-Quiet around 1999 with the introduction of the computerized control board with blink error codes, then recently to QG to bring the naming inline to make all RV generators either QG for gasoline RV units or QD for diesel RV units, under the cover plate the QG and Micro-Quiet are nearly identical.

Cummins bought out majority interest in Onan from McGraw Edison in 1986, and took over entirely in about 1992, though it took them until about 4-5 years ago to fully integrate Onan with Cummins Power which was their own pre-existing Cummins Generator division.  This integration of the two generator lines was done in a number of steps over the years
