Being that I installed headers on the 454 and did notice that the starter had a tough time turning over when the engine was hot, I installed the heat shield on it last week. While under there I have noticed  the oil filter is fairly close to the header on the opposite side and that the oil cooling lines are seeping a little, I was thinking of getting the remote oil filter kit which, would save me from getting new lines made as they are factory and unavailable. Any thoughts (instructive) would be appreciated

I don't have any installation tips, but it sounds like a good idea. There are several kits on Summit racing. I'd say pick the one that is the most complete, so you don't have to start piecing things together. The Ford V10 has a factory oil cooler at the base of the filter. Coolant hoses run back to it to supply cooled anti-freeze. Good luck!

My old coach has the oil cooler at the bottom three rows of the A/C evaporator coil in front of the radiator. Taking that out would only benefit the cooling system I would think

Yeah, the Ford uses a heat exchanger type cooler, where the Chevy uses a fin and tube type cooler.  I wish my F53 had the Chevy type cooler.  My heat exchanger leaked oil into the cooling system and cost me a week and around $1200 to get squared away.

If it was me, Summit has an oil filter heat blanket.  It just slips over the filter.  When you need to change the filter remove the blanket, change the filter and re-install the blanket.

As far as the seeping oil lines, most any NAPA or O'Reilly's can make up new lines.  Just take the old ones in and they can make them to match.

that's a lot of money for that product, I think I can get a good remote filter kit and a cooler for 150 and will have an easier time getting to the filter
