I found out the bracket is actually part of the motor unit.  So it looks like I need to replace the motor.

I believe the LG on the motor housing cover stands for (brand) Longitude. I have contacted Carefree and my local RV dealer but they have yet to respond.

I found this on Walmart.com
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Carefree-R001326Wht-White-Motor-Assembly/177660479 and
https://www.ebay.com/p/CAREFREE-R001326WHT-White-RV-Travelr-Electric-Awning-Replacement-Motor/1040463481?iid=132942882772&chn=ps

It seems to be a match, and is much cheaper than purchasing directly from carefreeofcolorado
https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/catalog/part-detail.html?id=1658&bc=0,2,9,&q=2&pp=48&sst=

Is it really this easy?

Try Amazon.com and Ebay - they have a lot of motors direct from the motor manufacturers and sometimes have cross-references to awnings that use them. .  RV awnings typically use motors designed for car power windows. I also suggest searching (Google) the net for the part number you need, which may find a substitute part number that is much less expensive. Not always, but a decent chance.
