Ready brake cable lubrication

Usually they require no lubrication as the cable slides easily in the sheath. I have not had to lube mine in 10 years. It's possible that debris or road salt has gotten into the cable over the winter. It may require slipping it out of the sheath and cleaning it off. Anything you lube it with will create the possibility of attracting dirt or other debris.

The Ready Brake lubrication instructions are in the owner manual. If you don't have one, download:

If you are talking about what the install instructions call the "conduit" that routes the cable under/around the engine from firewall to bumper, you can pull the cable out and clean/flush any dirt out of the conduit. The cable conduit is shown here:

I don't think the cable itself is intended to be lubricated and it should probably be replaced if not moving freely. Wouldn't hurt to put a liquid lube in to run down the sleeve, though.
I see SargeW has already responded with much the same advice. Since he owns a Ready Brake too, I'd take his advice.

Over the ~10 years we've used it, I've occasionally lubed our ReadyBrake cable and conduit by spraying dry silicone in each end using the small straw that came with the can. It still works as well today as it did when it was new.
