Yesterday we took a leisurely drive along the Hoback River in the Bridger-Tetons. Chris packed a lunch, and we spent a little time on the banks.

The Hoback is a tributary of the Snake River, meeting at Hoback Junction (intersection of Hwy89 and 189). This is a pristine river with a solid trout population, but too fast for (my) wading in the lower reaches. If/when I fish this river, it will be in the higher reaches, but quite a drive from our base camp.

Meanwhile, the Snake had a lot of rafters and kayakers along the river. Whitewater rafting pickup buses could be seen at all the launch/retrieve areas.
