How is BLM camping along 84 in Idaho? I will be trying to make time on my way to Oregon.  I'm not sure where I will pull off but I would like to stay within a mile or two of 84.  I could make any recommended spots a goal for that day of driving.  I've never used BLM land before.  Do I have to register for the spot I use?

I cannot tell you of spots along 84, maybe others can make recommendations.  A good source is Campendium.  In answer to your question about registering for a spot, no you do not need to register.  You simply find a suitable spot making sure you are indeed on BLM land and set-up camp, generally for up to 14 days.

any blm land along 84 is tender dry. i am sure it is closed to camping. even a tail pipe will ignite the cheat grass.
