Hi to all.  I'm new to this forum and I am trying to install a washer / dryer in my 2017 Grand Design Momentum trailer. The water and sewer connections are installed but I have to install the dryer duct. The area that the manufacturer  gave us for the install is a bit to small for my Splendide. The dryer duct will have to be flattened about 2 inches to get the washer back into the closet. Is there a better solution to install the dryer duct? Has anyone cut into the wall behind the dryer location to make a pocket for the dryer hose to fit?  The location of the vent hole is not marked on my unit as I been told that Grand Design puts on some of its units. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't have any good ideas - the solution depends wholly on what you have to work with in your particular RV. However, I would make every effort to find a solution, because free air flow through the dryer and out the vent is crucial to drying performance and the combo washer/dryer design and 120v power are already limiting factors. Partially collapsing the vent hose would hurt a lot, in my opinion, so avoid if at all possible.

I would even include a possible re-facing of the space so the w/d could stick out a few more inches, leaving more room for the vent hose.

Would the flat, "periscope" type vent duct be any help?

You might go to a big box store and see if they have some solid oval vent pipe.

Look for the space saver flat ducting available at Lowe's etc

Grand Design probably intended that space for an unvented combo unit.
