What are some good destinations to travel to for ATV trail riding? In Minnesota, the northern half of the state is littered with trails, and many hotels and campgrounds have direct access to the trails. I've ridden the trails around Silver Bay on the North Shore of Lake Superior.  Trails and scenery were amazing, and some trails allowed direct access to Lake Superior. Spyder Lake recreational area in the Foot Hills park west of Brainerd is very popular - 29 miles of trails in a fairly compact area. A lot of intersections where trails cross, so you have to be aware of your surroundings.

Any recommendations for riding/camping areas around the Black Hills or Badlands in SD?

I'm just getting ready to buy a toy hauler, so far have just been trailering and either doing a tent or hotel. For those who regularly camp and ride - How often do you end up boondocking compared to staying in campgrounds with full hookups?
