I am starting this thread to hopefully go along with the campground closures thread, but for other sorts of important services to give an idea of level of community closures by state / area.

I am in western Louisiana, well away from the vast majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases, which are nearly all in and around New Orleans in the SE corner of the state so far.  The current state of things here is all K-12 schools are closed, all colleges are closed or are going to online only this week, all restaurants, bars and theaters are closed, excluding delivery and drive thru.  And as of today by order of the state dental association all dentist offices are closing by end of day today (web site not yet updated), I only know because I had a family member needing an emergency dental visit this morning.
I did not include things such as museum, park, and library closures on this list, as I wanted to limit it to things that could be seen as important to daily life for full timers that might be picking a destination.

Colorado has essentially the same closures (I haven't heard anything about dentists), schools, bars, restaurants (takeout/delivery only), etc., most anything that gets more than 10 people together.

Just got a call from Florida State Parks that they are closing tomorrow.  Luckily I am in COE campgrounds for next two weeks, and hopefully they will not close those.  Think they want all the snowbirds to head for home.

Looks like the trend is for all National Parks to close :(

Campgrounds in Death Valley National Park will be closing. On Wednesday, March 18 at noon, Furnace Creek, Mesquite Spring, Texas Springs, and Emigrant campgrounds will close. Stovepipe Wells and Sunset campgrounds will close Thursday, March 19 at noon.

This is due to a shortage of CDC recommended personal protective gear (PPE) for custodians to protect themselves and the public from the spread of COVID-19.

Park management wishes to remind people of CDC guidelines to help limit the spread of the coronavirus: wash your hands frequently, maintain a 6-foot distance from others, limit groups to 10 people or less, and limit all unnecessary travel. Also be aware that toilet paper is being taken from public restrooms, so anyone still visiting the park should bring their own.

We thank our visitors for their care about this park, and your understanding as we seek to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Yesterday our illustrious (heavy sarcasm there) Iowa governor said the state was still ?Open for business!? Today about noon she ordered all gatherings over 10 people prohibited and restaurants are carry out or delivery only. Exceptions to the  gathering limit are grocery store, pharmacies, and the like. Those places had to remove their seating areas. Supposedly the limitations will be lifted at the end of the month. I doubt it though. By then the disease count will be sky high and people will have started dying. At least we finally are getting test kit availability, though it is still limited.

Nevada Gov. Sisolak has shut down the state for at least 30 days.  All casinos and "non-essential" services like sit-down restaurants, bars, gyms, hairdressers and barbers, etc. are closed starting tomorrow.  The Las Vegas strip is a ghost town.

The Pahrump Escapees co-op park has stopped accepting visiting SKPs for the forseeable future.  Visitors in the park can stay, but no new people can get in for a while.

TX Gov Greg Abbott, Chimed in 8 Hrs ago..

Gov Quoted.
"...for those NOT in Critical condition, but just people who've been diagnosed as having COVID19, but need a place to stay in isolation with a bathroom in it where they don't contaminate anybody else.? To protect from contamination.. People testing and treating COVID19 patients need masks, gowns, what is called personal protection equipment, which politicians and first responders have said was in short supply. ?We recently received a large amount from the national stockpile that we are distributing across the entire state of Texas as we speak,? End Quote

In a news conference Tuesday, the Governor said Texas is ready for COVID19.

Anyway, my JD opinion is that X-OVID19 seems to be taken seriously down here in my beloved home state of Texas.

Call me crazy but I am thinking this is the best time to be on the road?  I am serious? Anybody...?

Headline on one of the mySA, Url...Coronavirus cases jump to 11 in San Antonio

Hum..equipment was in short supply, I wonder if the funding for it for last decades was?

North Carolina overnight accom. and buildings all closed...trails and such still open....This is getting completely out of hand, you have YOUR OWN HOME !!! What could be safer than that type of SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!!

Restaurants and bars all closed in Illinois as of Monday evening.  I expect more severe actions in the coming days.  This is going to be a wild ride.

Louisiana will have a stay at home order, effective 5 pm Monday, no travel except to buy or provide essential services (food, medicine, etc.),  exceptions for going to or from a family members house, place of worship, or taking part in outdoor activities assuming one keeps a 6 ft separation and has groups of less than 10 people.

We're currently in Ft McAllister State Park near Savannah, GA for a couple of days slowly making our way north to our upstate NY family cottage where we'll hunker down for the duration. We're not rushing, just doing about 3 hr trips per day while we watch the weather up north. It looks like it should be ok by the time we get there.

Last I checked GA was one of the "No response yet" states.. I might add LA was a day late with their response.. (Meaning the hospitals will go into "Code Black" as the TV show was called.)

PA has declared campgrounds as "Essential" or so I was told last night  so they remain open.

Greetings,

Not sure where to post this as there are so many topics with the corona virus. Gov. of Indiana just issued a stay at home order. Only want people to go out if they are providing help for other people (taking care), or if you need supplies or meds or have a medical condition that needs attention.

Wonder if topics could be grouped together related to the corona virus so people can find.

Ohio is going on mandatory lock down at midnight tonight.  Grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants carry out and drive thru only.  Im not sure about state parks for camping, they are still taking online reservations as of now. Also not sure of the private campgrounds.

What is the difference between this ?mandatory lockdown? and the supposed similar situation in MA where we are ?asked? to stay home and avoid unneeded travel?

I have not read of many places ?locked down?.

I don't know if South Carolina has a "stay home" order in place or not, but I did notice a decided lack of traffic and SC license plates on the parts of I-26 and I-77 we traveled today. SCDOT had also placed many portable signs along the roads reading "Save Lives - Stay Home"
