I have recently purchased a 4WD 2019 Yukon XL SLT. Everything that I've researched has the maximum tow capacity around 6000#. My travel trailer dry weight is 7500#. My Yukon has the tow package and the hitch is stamped with a max tow of 10,000#. I would really love to tow my camper with the Yukon, but I definitely don't want to damage my vehicle. Can anyone please add some knowledge to this?

I owned a YukonXL, SLT prior to buying a F150. I can positively tell you, that YukonXL will not come close to pulling your trailer, and 6000# is about correct for max weight. The hitch my be able to handle 10k, but the truck can't. I'm not sure I would attempt your trailer with my well optiond F150, you are real close to F250 territory. The wind force adds a bunch of resistance.

Loved my Yukon my wife loved it more, but it struggled with a 4500lb boat. Sorry to burst bubbles, the Yukons are great vehicles but not for towing unless you step up to a 2500. I traded in the Yukon on a new 3500 truck and kept the 1500 6.2l 1500 i had for towing the boat.

Yup, I search high and low for a newer YukonXL that met my minimal towing needs. I probably could have gotten by with one. Don't get me wrong, I really like my new F150, but that YukonXL was better than a cadi, sure would like to have bought a new Denali, 6.2, 2500, with 1700 payload.
